Dr. Jianxin Huang is a licensed Acupuncturist
both, nationally, and in Washington state. He is also a nationally certified Herbologist. Dr. Huang is a faculty member at
Bastyr University instructing Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
After graduating from the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese
Medicine in 1979, Nanjing, China, Dr. Huang practiced emergency medicine, internal medicine, gynecology, and pediatrics for
more than 20 years. His skillful blending of ancient acupuncture and herbal knowledge with modern, scientific research and
Western Medicine, and his astute diagnostic and treatment skills resulted in his promotion to Chief Physician at Jiangsu TCM
Hospital (Chief Physician is roughly equivalent to a position in the U.S. between Chief of Staff and Staff Physician). Dr.
Huang has been presented two awards by the Chinese government for his achievements in medical research. He has published many
articles in professional journals, as well as books. Dr. Huang reviews current medical research publications from China on
an ongoing basis.
Before being invited to the U.S. as a visiting scholar, Dr. Huang
was a member of China's Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and China's Society of Medical Information, the Director
of the Board of the Medical Computer User's Association, and the Academic Secretary of the Society for Research of Liver Disorders.
Following in the Chinese tradition, Dr. Huang has spent decades
investigating the nature and causative factors of health, disease and death. He says, "It is the physician's duty to teach
students and patients to improve their health through diet, exercise, and other lifestyle changes, so that they may live a
long, healthy life." In addition to counseling patients and students on these subjects, Dr. Huang has translated portions
of The Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine, and other important Chinese texts dealing with health, which
are available from his office.
When treatment for disease or injury is appropriate, Dr. Huang
is most effective. |
